Atheists' Billboard Calls Nativity a 'Myth'
MYFOXNY.COM - A group called the American Atheists has paid for a huge billboard on Route 495 outside the Lincoln Tunnel in North Bergen, N.J., that is raising some eyebrows.
The billboard shows a silhouette of the Three Wise Men approaching the Nativity, with the words: "You KNOW it's a Myth / This Season, Celebrate REASON!"
The group says the billboard is not designed to convert Christians to atheism. Rather, Dave Silverman, a spokesman for the American Atheists, says the sign is designed to encourage existing atheists who are going through the motions of celebrating Christmas to stop.
On its website, the group also states that the billboard is meant to "attack the myth that Christianity owns the solstice season" and to "raise the awareness of the organization and the movement."
The American Atheists said the billboard cost $20,000.
Okay, a few questions: they report a "huge billboard"... Is it any bigger than the myriad of theitard billboards out there? Also, why are the theitards getting upset that atheists are putting up a billboard? Don't they put up a bunch of billboards all the time? I guess it's freedom of speech, but only for speech they agree with. And people thought George Orwell's Animal Farm was somehow dystopian. I guess he never saw the American religious right coming!
Oh, a small addendum: Don't you just love these compassionate, loving billboards from christians? And yet there is no national outcry, or atheists wailing "Woe is us" and gnashing of teeth. We see these for the stupidity that they originate from, and readily dismiss the idiots who put these up for the idiots that they are.

Hey Wylann! Good to see you again.
As I have said on a few of the articles discussing this:
I wonder why all the theists are getting their panties in a wad about this, but no one seems to care when theists put up billboards calling atheists traitors, lunatics, and in many other ways insulting us with much more personal attacks? As a 20 year USAF veteran, I am quite certain that I am demonstrably much more patriotic than most of the people posting on these stories. My service ribbons quite literally prove that I have written a blank check to the Constitution that can be redeemed to any value, up to and including my life. Yet theists will insist that I am somehow un-American because I don't buy into some mass delusion about some cosmic jewish sky zombie that had to impregnate his own mother with himself and then ritually commit suicide in order to forgive us for some sin that he initially created in us that was the responsibility of some talking snake that convinced some sort of rib woman to eat a magic apple? Yeah, right...
